Improving reservoir permeability by electric pulse controllable shock wave
Controllable shock wave (CWS) parameters such as amplitude, operating area and number of operations are easy to control and have received extensive attention as a potential new technology for reservoir permeability enhancement.

Local pressure for inhomogeneous fluids [PDF]
Definitions for a local pressure in an inhomogeneous fluid are considered for both equilibrium and local equilibrium states. Thermodynamic and mechanical (hydrodynamic) contexts are reconciled. Remaining problems and uncertainties are discussed.

Mechanics of couple-stress fluid coatings [PDF]
The formal development of a theory of viscoelastic surface fluids with bending resistance - their kinematics, dynamics, and rheology are discussed. It is relevant to the mechanics of fluid drops and jets coated by a thin layer of immiscible fluid with ...

Consensus molecular subtypes (CMS1‐4) have been identified to study colorectal cancer heterogeneity and serve as potential biomarkers. In this study, we developed and evaluated NanoCMSer, a NanoString‐based classifier using 55 genes, optimized for FF and FFPE to facilitate the clinical evaluation of CMS subtyping.

Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon

The quark-gluon plasma, turbulence, and quantum mechanics
Quark-gluon plasmas formed in heavy ion collisions at high energies are well described by ideal classical fluid equations with nearly zero viscosity. It is believed that a similar fluid permeated the entire universe at about three microseconds after the ...

The study evaluated the function and therapeutic implications of PRAME in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The findings demonstrate that PRAME impairs keratinocyte differentiation pathways. Furthermore, PRAME impairs anticancer response to retinoid compounds in BCC and SCC cells.

Violation of Bell's inequality in fluid mechanics [PDF]
We show that a classical fluid mechanical system can violate Bell's inequality because the fluid motion is correlated over large distances.
