A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Underwater Unidirectional Cellular Fluidics
The unidirectional fluidics underwater promises the manipulation of gas/liquid for various significant applications. Inspired by the unique stomata on the surface of hornwort stems and leaves that enable the transport and storage of oxygen underwater, we

Application of the Active-Fluidics System in Phacoemulsification: A Review
The fluidics system is an indispensable and primary component of phacoemulsification. Both the gravity-fluidics system and active-fluidics system are commonly used in practice.

The natural world provides many examples of multiphase transport and reaction processes that have been optimized by evolution. These phenomena take place at multiple length and time scales and typically include gas-liquid-solid interfaces and capillary phenomena in porous media1,2.

Manipulating Fluids: Advances in Micro-Fluidics, Opto-Fluidics and Fluidic Self-Assembly [PDF]
This dissertation describes work in three inter-related areas – micro-fluidics, opto-fluidics and fluidic self-assembly. Micro-fluidics has gotten a boost in recent years with the development of multilayered elastomeric devices made of poly (dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), allowing active elements like valves and pumps.

A New Fluidics Method to Determine Minimum Miscibility Pressure
IOR 2021, 2021Summary The miscible gas injection has been broadly used in many oil fields as an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) method. Minimum Miscibility Pressure (MMP) is a critical parameter both for modeling and field operations. The slim-tube method is recognized as
