Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Fluorescence energy transfer enhancement in aluminum nanoapertures

open access: yes, 2015
Zero-mode waveguides (ZMWs) are confining light into attoliter volumes, enabling single molecule fluorescence experiments at physiological micromolar concentrations. Among the fluorescence spectroscopy techniques that can be enhanced by ZMWs, F\"{o}rster

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Fluorescence spectroscopy applied in lubricant oils

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2018
In this work, we report the use of the fluorescence spectroscopy to identify lubricant oils. Optical characterization was performed in four commercial lubricant oils that are used in the reciprocating compressors.

Two-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy of uranium isotopes in femtosecond laser ablation plumes

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
We demonstrate measurement of uranium isotopes in femtosecond laser ablation plumes using two-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy (2DFS). The high-resolution, tunable CW-laser spectroscopy technique clearly distinguishes atomic absorption from 235U and

Signatures of Exciton Delocalization and Exciton-Exciton Annihilation in Fluorescence-Detected Two-Dimensional Coherent Spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2018
We present calculations of the fluorescence-detected coherent two-dimensional (F-2DES) spectra of a molecular heterodimer. We compare how the F-2DES technique differs from the standard coherently detected two-dimensional (2DES) spectroscopy in measuring ...

Effect of charged lipids on the ionization behavior of glutamic acid containing transmembrane helices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Transmembrane proteins make up critical components of living cells. Protein function can be greatly impacted by the charged state of its respective components, the side chains of amino acid residues.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Deepening inside the pictorial layers of Etruscan sarcophagus of Hasti Afunei: An innovative micro-sampling technique for Raman/SERS analyses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The Hasti Afunei sarcophagus is a large Etruscan urn, made up of two chalky alabaster monoliths. Dated from the last quarter of the third century BC, it was found in 1826 in the small town of Chiusi (Tuscany- Il Colle place) by a landowner, Pietro Bonci ...
