Research Progress on Chiral Supramolecular Sensors for Enantiomer Detection
Chiral substances occur naturally in abiotic and living systems. The recognition and detection of chiral substances in the natural environment or their analysis and detection in biological systems are crucial.

On the origin of fluorine in the Milky Way
The main astrophysical factories of fluorine (19F) are thought to be Type II supernovae, Wolf-Rayet stars, and the asymptotic giant branch (AGB) of intermediate mass stars.

Fluorine abundances in planetary nebulae
We have determined fluorine abundances from the F II 4789 and F IV 4060 nebular emission lines for a sample of planetary nebulae (PNe). Our results show that fluorine is generally overabundant in PNe, thus providing new evidence for the synthesis of ...

The Abundance of Interstellar Fluorine and Its Implications [PDF]
We report results from a survey of neutral fluorine (F I) in the interstellar medium. Data from the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) were used to analyze 26 lines of sight lying both in the galactic disk and halo, including lines to Wolf ...

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Fluorine—Fluorine Coupling Constants [PDF]
The pattern of fluorine—fluorine coupling constants is explained on the basis of two mechanisms for nuclear spin—spin coupling: the ``through-bond'' and the ``through-space'' mechanisms. In the former, the interaction proceeds via the electronic structure in the intervening bonds.

Considering the long time in which fluorine compounds have been used it seems rather surprising that it was not isolated as an element until 1886. This long delay was not due to lack of effort, but to the reactivity of fluorine and the hazards of working with it and many of its compounds.

Some neutron and gamma radiation characteristics of plutonium cermet fuel for isotopic power sources [PDF]
Gamma and neutron measurements on various types of plutonium sources are presented in order to show the effects of O-17, O-18 F-19, Pu-236, age of the fuel, and size of the source on the gamma and neutron spectra.
