Karyotype analysis in Bignonieae (Bignoniaceae): chromosome numbers and heterochromatin

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2017
Chromosome numbers and heterochromatin banding pattern variability have been shown to be useful for taxonomic and evolutionary studies of different plant taxa.

C-banding, fluorescent staining and NOR location in holokinetic chromosomes of bugs of the Neotropical genus Antiteuchus (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae: Discocephalinae)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2006
Different cytogenetic techniques including C-banding, base-specific fluorochromes and silver nitrate staining were used to compare the karyotypes of three species of bugs, representatives of the Neotropical genus Antiteuchus, namely A.

Evaluation of three fluorochromes as in situ growth markers in Manila clam Ruditapes philippinarum

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2023
Marking technology is essential to evaluate the growth performance of shellfish species in aquaculture. Some fluorochromes have been widely used in shellfish growth studies, but their marking quality remains unresolved. In order to establish an effective

Filter-Dense Multicolor Microscopy. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Immunofluorescence microscopy is a unique method to reveal the spatial location of proteins in tissues and cells. By combining antibodies that are labeled with different fluorochromes, the location of several proteins can simultaneously be visualized in ...

Karyotype characterization, constitutive heterochromatin and nucleolus organizer regions of Paranaita opima (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae, Alticinae)

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2006
Species of the subtribe Oedionychina not only have a highly uniform diploid number of 2n = 22 (20+X+y) but have the karyotypic peculiarity of possessing extremely large sex chromosomes.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Synthetic Cell‐Based Tissues for Bottom‐Up Assembly of Artificial Lymphatic Organs

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Synthetic cells have emerged as a novel biomimetic approach for fundamental research and therapeutic interventions. T cell activating synthetic cells are able to form 3D tissue‐like structures by self‐assembly into lymphatic bottom‐up tissues (lymphBUT) with tunable biochemical and biomechanical functionalities as well as metabolic activity are ...

High‐Throughput In Vivo Screening Using Barcoded mRNA Identifies Lipid Nanoparticles With Extrahepatic Tropism for In Situ Immunoengineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput in vivo mRNA LNP screening platform is developed and employed to screen a large library of 122 mRNA LNPs in vivo for delivery to immune, stromal, and parenchymal cells, identifying promising LNP candidates. A novel small particle flow cytometry‐based protein adsorption analysis method is utilized to interrogate protein corona ...

Comparative cytogenetic analysis of two grasshopper species of the tribe Abracrini (Ommatolampinae, Acrididae)

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2011
The grasshopper species Orthoscapheus rufipes and Eujivarus fusiformis were analyzed using several cytogenetic techniques. The karyotype of O. rufipes, described here for the first time, had a diploid number of 2n = 23, whereas E.
