Non-interventional study of the safety and effectiveness of fluticasone propionate/formoterol fumarate in real-world asthma management

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Respiratory Disease, 2018
Introduction: In recognition of the value of long-term real-world data, a postauthorization safety study of the inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) fluticasone propionate and long-acting β 2 -agonist (LABA) formoterol fumarate (fluticasone/formoterol; Flutiform

Clinical Outcomes Associated With Long‐Acting Beta Agonist Escalation in Preschool Children With Severe Asthma: A Retrospective Hospital Based Clinic Cohort Study

open access: yesPediatric Pulmonology, Volume 61, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background We define adherent, difficult‐to‐treat asthma as ‘true severe asthma.' In preschool children, evidence for add‐on long‐acting beta‐agonists (LABA) to inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) in those with persistent uncontrolled disease despite high‐dose ICS remains limited. We evaluated clinical outcomes of ICS–LABA therapy in this population.

Combination formoterol and inhaled steroid versus beta(2)-agonist as relief medication for chronic asthma in adults and children (Review) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background Formoterol has a fast onset of action and can therefore be used to relieve symptoms of asthma. A combination inhaler can deliver formoterol with different doses of inhaled corticosteroid; when used as a reliever both drugs will be delivered ...

Combination formoterol and budesonide as maintenance and reliever therapy versus inhaled steroid maintenance for chronic asthma in adults and children (Review) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background Traditionally inhaled treatment for asthma has been considered as preventer and reliever therapy. The combination of formoterol and budesonide in a single inhaler introduces the possibility of using a single inhaler for both prevention and ...
