DC excited flux-switching motor: Rotor structural optimization
2014 17th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2014This paper investigates the effect of various rotor structures on the torque production capability of DC excited flux-switching motors. In these machines two set of windings, excited with DC and three-phase AC currents, are placed within the stator and the rotor structure should ensure that the applicable magnetic circuit is present to achieve both a ...

Hybrid Drive of a Variable Flux Reluctance Motor and Switched Reluctance Motor
2018 XIII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2018A current superimposition variable flux reluctance motor for a traction motor of electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles are proposed. This motor can be driven using a 6-phase asymmetric inverter which is used to drive a switched reluctance motor. However, it is difficult to obtain a high efficiency in a low-speed and high-torque region.

Development of an Analytic Model for Flux Switching Motors
2009This paper presents developing an analytical model for flux switching motors. The motor is a class of variable reluctance motors that has two windings on stator; a field winding and an armature winding. Due to saliency of both stator and rotor poles, accurate modeling is difficult which arises from the nonlinear behavior of the machine.

Stator-Flux-Oriented Fault-Tolerant Control of Flux-Switching Permanent-Magnet Motors
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2011Flux-switching permanent-magnet (FSPM) motors are a newly developed brushless AC (BLAC) machine having magnets in the stator. This paper proposes and implements a stator-flux-oriented (SFO) control strategy for fault-tolerant operation of FSPM motors. The key is to set the q-axis component of armature current invariant before and after the fault.

Flux distribution and core losses of switched reluctance motors
Proceedings of 1996 Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2002The pole and yoke flux waveforms for a prototype switched reluctance motor (SRM) are presented. These flux waveforms are obtained from measured voltage signals from search coils, installed inside the SRM during its construction, through a numerical integration routine.

Investigation of direct flux measurements in switched reluctance motors
2008 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting - Conversion and Delivery of Electrical Energy in the 21st Century, 2008This paper investigates the use embedded magnetic field sensors in estimating the torque produced by a switched reluctance motor. Recent advances in nanomaterials have enabled the development of very compact magnetic field sensors based on the giant magneto resistive (GMR) effect.

Optimization of linear flux switching permanent magnet motor
2010 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference, 2010Linear planar flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) brushless machines have significant potential for transportation application. A 6-slot/5-pole linear FSPM motor is optimized in this paper for maximum thrust force at a fixed copper loss and also for minimum cogging force by finite element (FE) analysis. The influence of major design parameters, such

Design of Bearingless Flux-Switching Permanent-Magnet Motor
IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2016In this paper, a novel E-core bearingless flux-switching permanent-magnet (BFSPM) motor is presented to overcome the shortcomings of rotor permanent-magnet-type bearingless motors. The basic structure and the operation principle are first described. In addition, the mathematical models of radial suspension forces and torque are deduced.

Estimation of flux linkage by analyzing flux paths in a switched reluctance motor
2012 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference, 2012Inductance of phase windings is a key parameter in determining the behavior of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) [1–8]. Therefore, the accurate prediction of inductance at aligned and unaligned rotor positions makes a significant contribution to the design of an SRM and its analytical approach is not straightforward due to nonlinear saturation in flux.

A Full-Pitched Flux-Switching Permanent-Magnet Motor
IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2016In this paper, a new 12/7-pole flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) motor is proposed. Similar to the conventional FSPM motor, both the armature windings and permanent magnets of the proposed 12/7-pole FSPM motor are housed on the stator, whereas the rotor is composed of a simple iron core with salient teeth.
