Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Fault plane solutions of the 1993 and 1995 Gulf of Aqaba earthquakes and their tectonic implications

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 1997
The stereographic projection of P-wave first motions for the 3 August 1993 Gulf of Aqaba earthquake, its largest aftershock (16 h 33 min), and for the 22 November 1995 earthquake were constructed using the polarity readings of regional and teleseismic ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Distributions of stresses and geometry of the Wadati-Benioff zone under Chiapas, Mexico [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 1999
Seismicity recorded from June 1994 to May 1995 on a portable network of analog and digital seismic stations defines the geometry of the Wadati-Benioff zone under Chiapas and the distributions of the principal stresses along the subducted slab. Seismicity

The stressed state of the Earth’s crust in the Altai-Sayan mountain region: reconstruction based on the modified algorithms of the cataclastic method [PDF]

open access: yesГеосистемы переходных зон
The article presents the results of a new reconstruction of stress in the Earth’s crust in the Altai-Sayan mountain region and their adjacent territories based on seismological data, and using a new modification of the method of cataclastic analysis ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

The 2008 Mt. Etna dike arrest: integration of structural investigation, seismic and energy-balance analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The 13 May 2008 dike intrusion on the northern flank of Mt. Etna provides a rare case in which surface structural evidence can be directly compared with real-time geophysical observations. In this study, we integrate structural field data, high-precision

Seismicity, focal mechanisms, and stress distribution in the Tres Vírgenes volcanic and geothermal region, Baja California Sur, Mexico [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 2006
In October 1993 we carried out a seismic monitoring in the Tres Vírgenes volcanic region in order to record the background seismicity associated with the volcanic structures, the geothermal field and the tectonic features of the area. Hypocenters for 257

Moment tensor solutions for the Amatrice 2016 seismic sequence

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2016
On August 24, 2016 a ML 6.0 earthquake struck central Italy region, nearly completely destroying some small ancient towns as Amatrice, Accumoli, Arquata and Pescara del Tronto. In the following days thousands of aftershocks have been recorded by the INGV
