In this study, chemoproteomics combined with genetic and functional analyses was integrated to identify SHMT2 as a covalent and functional target of gambogic acid (GA) in triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC). Further validation demonstrated that GA selectively modifies the Cys241 site of SHMT2, triggering mitochondrial dysfunction, activating the Nrf2 ...

ABSTRACT The muscle capsule of Trichinella is a critical structure that impedes immune attacks and drug penetration, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying its formation remain poorly understood. Using a high‐quality super‐pangenome comprising 12 Trichinella species, we compared extensive genomic variations between encapsulating and non‐encapsulating ...

Serum folate status among blood donors in south-central China
Folate deficiency has been confirmed to be related to various diseases. Unfortunately, there are few reports on the folate status of Chinese adults. This study aims to evaluate the serum folate status of blood donors in south-central China. In this study,

Combined assessment of serum folate and hemoglobin as biomarkers of brain amyloid β accumulation. [PDF]
A relationship between Alzheimer's disease (AD) and folate has been reported. Amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) is currently one of the most reliable biomarkers for AD.

NLSS3 Impairs SHM1 Autophagic Degradation to Regulate Leaf Morphology and Salt Tolerance in Rice
In rice, NLSS3 binds and shields SHM1 from autophagic degradation to maintain serine homeostasis. The A132P mutation in nlss3 disrupts this, triggering SHM1 loss, metabolic dysfunction, K+ imbalance, and impaired ROS scavenging, which collectively drive narrow leaves and salt sensitivity.

MiR‐940 Suppresses Ferroptosis by Controlling Expression of Key Regulatory Genes
A CRISPR‐based screening identified miR‐940 as a critical suppressor of ferroptosis in cancer. By coordinating the downregulation of pro‐ferroptotic genes with the upregulation of GPX4, miR‐940 establishes a regulatory network that protects against ferroptosis and correlates with poor clinical outcomes in distinct cancer entities.

An Integrated DNA Nanoprobe for Intranuclear Imaging and in Situ Profiling of OGG1 Activity
The TP‐SA nanoprobe, integrating an AS1411 aptamer for nuclear delivery and a FRET array for signal amplification, enables real‐time tracking of nuclear OGG1 activity. It reveals cell‐line‐specific basal OGG1 levels and shows clinical promise using pneumonia patients’ lavage fluid.
