Food Quality in Producer-Grazer Models: A Generalized Analysis
Stoichiometric constraints play a role in the dynamics of natural populations, but are not explicitly considered in most mathematical models. Recent theoretical works suggest that these constraints can have a significant impact and should not be ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Browning reactions between oxidized vegetable oils and amino acids
Browning of stored food products, not exposed to heat treatment, is generally considered as a negative process. The formation of brown pigments at a temperature close to storage temperatures was followed in mixtures of either free fatty acids or ...

Review of perspectives applied in the assessment of organic food networks [PDF]
Value is a key concept for understanding how organic food networks function because values are the foundation of the organic production practice, thus value must be given a significant role in assessing and balancing the effects of organic food networks.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Quality analysis of critical control points within the whole food chain and their impact on food quality, safety and health (QACCP) [PDF]
The overall objective of the project was to optimise organic production and processing in order to improve food quality and increase health promoting aspects in consumer products.

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Quantification of food intake using food image analysis [PDF]
Measuring free-living peoples' food intake represents methodological and technical challenges. The Remote Food Photography Method (RFPM) involves participants capturing pictures of their food selection and plate waste and sending these pictures to the research center via a wireless network, where they are analyzed by Registered Dietitians to estimate ...
