From Food to Power: Hydrogel Thermoelectrics for Ingestible Electronics
We introduce a fully edible thermoelectric–electrochromic platform that harvests heat from food and converts it into a visible color change. N‐type and p‐type hydrogel thermoelectric generators connected in series power anthocyanin‐based electrochromic displays, demonstrating the feasibility of safe, biodegradable, ingestible systems for on‐food ...

Dense Nanofibrillar Collagen–Silica Hybrids with High Strength and ECM‐Mimetic Tissue Integration
Dense nanofibrillar collagen–silica hybrids are engineered by synchronizing collagen fibrillogenesis with silica condensation, producing printable scaffolds that unexpectedly approach native extracellular matrix organization and strength. These cell‐free constructs guide endogenous cell‐infiltration, enable localized matrix remodeling, and integrate ...

Food Volatiles as Attractants for Yellowjackets (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) [PDF]
Abstract Assays with a captive Vespula germanica (F.) colony indicated that foragers were more strongly attracted to pear aged 24 h than to 0- or 48-h-aged pear. Sixteen chemicals found in 24-h pear and other foods were tested for their attractiveness to social wasps in a series of four trapping trials in rural and urban settings in Wisconsin.

Deciphering Small Molecule Diffusion Parameters Across Light Responsive Polymersome Membranes
Light‐responsive polymersomes bearing donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs) enable programmable control over small‐molecule transport across synthetic membranes. By systematically varying DASA density, an optimal functionalization regime is identified that maximizes light‐gated permeability.

Gourd‐Inspired Design of Unit Cell with Multiple Gradients for Physiological‐Range Pressure Sensing
Gourd‐shaped micro‐dome arrays with coordinated modulus, conductivity, and geometric gradients co‐optimize sensitivity and linearity in piezoresistive tactile sensors. Under pressure, a solid upper dome embeds into a porous lower dome, triggering rapid contact‐area growth and series‐to‐parallel conduction, enabling unsaturated, intensity‐resolved ...

Wanting a bit(e) of everything. The role of hunger in variety seeking. [PDF]
We examined whether consumers seek more or less variety when shopping on an empty stomach. The data show that hunger increases variety seeking when consumers make multiple food choices at once.

Host-specific cues cause differential attractiveness of Kenyan men to the African malaria vector Anopheles gambiae [PDF]
Background Many studies have suggested that variability in the attractiveness of humans to host-seeking mosquitoes is caused by differences in the make-up of body emanations, and olfactory signals in particular.
