Enabling Adaptive Food Monitoring Through Sampling Rate Adaptation for Efficient, Reliable Critical Event Detection

open access: yesJournal of Sensor and Actuator Networks
Monitoring systems are essential in many fields, such as food production, storage, and supply, to collect information about applications or their environments to enable decision-making. However, these systems generate massive amounts of data that require

Comparative genomics of the highly halophilic Haloferacaceae

open access: yesScientific Reports
The Haloferacaceae are a family of extremely halophilic archaea with many species producing enzymes and products beneficial for industrial biotechnology. They are, however, relatively under-characterised with regards to genetics and gene products.

Social entrepreneurship in agri-food systems: the case of food hubs

open access: yesInternational Food and Agribusiness Management Review, 2023
Abstract Food hubs are nascent organizational innovations in local and regional food systems. Although the number of food hubs in the U.S. has grown over the past decade, their purpose in the food system is still debated. There is a lack of clarity in whether food hubs primarily pursue a social mission, economic value creation, or both simultaneously ...

ADP‐ribosylation: An emerging regulator of the epigenome

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ADP‐ribosylation has emerged as a dynamic epigenetic signaling mechanism that modifies histones and chromatin‐associated proteins. Through coordinated PARylation and MARylation, it integrates with other histone modifications to regulate chromatin structure, transcription factor activity, and gene expression, influencing genome function and disease ...

Evaluating food hubs

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development, 2020
Food hubs create a range of economic, social, and environmental impacts through a wide variety of activities and programs. Evaluation of these impacts is important; however, many hubs lack the capacity (including time, resources, knowledge, and expertise) to do effective, ongoing evaluation work.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.
