Integrated Single‐Cell and Spatial Analysis Reveals a Metabolic‐Immune Axis Driving Aortic Dissection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell and spatial profiling of 110 human thoracic aortic samples reveals a stromal–immune circuit driving aortic dissection. An elastin‐rich fibroblast subset is depleted with age and markedly reduced in disease, weakening aortic wall integrity.

Food pantry organizational features, nutrition environments, and partnerships: a community-engaged study in Southern California

open access: yesBMC Public Health
Background Charitable food organizations are critical community hubs for promoting food security and nutrition. Few studies have examined whether food pantry organizational features (e.g., setting and size) are associated with the use of health promotion

Palatable‐Food–Driven Top‐Down Circuit Inhibits PVNCRF Activity to Mitigate Stress Via Peri‐PVNCRFR1 Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...

First you need the farmers: The microfarm system as a critical intervention in the alternative food movement

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development
After more than three decades, the alternative food movement has developed multiple strategies, most of which are still struggling. This essay surveys the literature on six key alternative food movement (AFM) strategies, assessing their strengths and ...

DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM Analyses Implicate the Critical Role of RNA Structural Dynamics in Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNA structural profiling of Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus by DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM analyses uncover that viral genome‐wide RSS is highly complicated and heterogeneous, with alternative RSSs widely distributed across the genome. Notably, the viral 3’ tRNA‐like structure adopts alternative conformations in vivo.

In Vivo Electrochemical Monitoring of Safinamide Pharmacokinetics in the Brain Explores Its Correlation With Vision‐Related Neuronal Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electrochemical platform based on differential pulse amperometry enables real‐time, selective tracking of safinamide pharmacokinetics in the living brain with high spatiotemporal resolution. When integrated with electrophysiology, this approach reveals that drug‐induced suppression of vision‐related neuronal activity provides mechanistic insight ...

Stage‐Specific H3K14 and H3K23 Succinylation Orchestrates Insect Metamorphosis and Oogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stage‐specific succinylation of histone H3 at lysine 14 and 23 differentially controls insect metamorphosis and oogenesis through distinct GPCR‐PKC signaling cascades, revealing an evolutionarily conserved epigenetic mechanism that coordinates key life‐history traits.
