LACTOSE-FREE DAIRY PRODUCTS: PROSPECTS FOR THE PRODUCTION

open access: yesНовые технологии, 2022
Milk is a fundamental component of the human diet. Approximately 60% of the adult population worldwide has lactose intolerance. Lactose intolerance occurs due to the inability of the small intestine to produce enough enzymes to digest lactose.

Activating the Osteoblastic USP26 Pathway Alleviates Multi‐Organ Fibrosis by Decreasing Insulin Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The loss of Ubiquitin Specific Peptidase 26 (USP26) in osteoblasts results in decreased bone formation, as well as multi‐organ fibrosis associated with insulin resistance (IR). Mechanistically, the absence of USP26 reduces glycolysis and lactate accumulation, leading to decreased histone H3 lysine 18 lactylation (H3K18LA) in the promoter region of KH ...

Role of diamine oxidase in the pathogenesis of chronic urticaria

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2022
Chronic urticaria is a polyetiological disease proceeding by various immunological and non-immunological (pseudo-allergic) mechanisms. Food intolerance is a distinct type of pseudo-allergies, manifesting, e.g., with histamine intolerance syndrome, caused

Microbiota-Produced N-Formyl Peptide fMLF Promotes Obesity-Induced Glucose Intolerance. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The composition of the gastrointestinal microbiota and associated metabolites changes dramatically with diet and the development of obesity. Although many correlations have been described, specific mechanistic links between these changes and glucose ...

Targeting Endothelial KDM5A to Attenuate Aging and Ameliorate Age‐Associated Metabolic Abnormalities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies endothelial KDM5A as a key regulator of aging. KDM5A deficiency accelerates aging by enhancing H3K4me3‐mediated FABP4 expression, disrupting fatty acid metabolism, and promoting multi‐organ senescence. KDM5A restoration or FABP4 inhibition reverses these adverse effects and extends lifespan, positioning the KDM5A/FABP4 axis as a ...

Food intolerance

open access: yesZdravstvena zastita, 2022
Food intolerance is a non-immunological response induced by a food or food component in a dose that is normally tolerated. It includes pseudo allergic and pharmacological effects caused by: salicylates, biogenic amines, sulphites, sodium glutamate, colours and preservatives, sweeteners, or enzymopathies.

DISCUSSIONS IN MEDICINE: ALLERGY OR FOOD INTOLERANCE

open access: yesМедицинский совет, 2017
Clinicians and patients often confuse hypersensitivity, allergies and intolerances. Differences in terminology often lead to erroneous conclusions. This article proposes the terminology to split up symptoms that are very close to each other clinically ...

Gabpα‐Pparγ Complex Determines Glycolytic Capacity and Lactic Acid Homeostasis in Brown Fat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the Gabpα–Pparγ complex as a key transcriptional regulator that couples glycolysis to lactate‐driven thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue by directly activating Eno1 transcription. ‌Competitive disruption of this interaction impairs lactate metabolism and thermogenic capacity.
