Diagnosis of Food Protein-Induced Enteropathy Based on Gastrointestinal Mucosal Pathology before and after Elimination Diet Therapy: A Case Report [PDF]
We describe the case of a 1-year-old girl with food protein-induced enteropathy (FPE) that was difficult to diagnose. She was referred to our hospital with a 3-month history of diarrhea, vomiting, and weight loss.

Food protein‐induced proctocolitis and enteropathy
Non-IgE (immunoglobulin E) mediated gastrointestinal food allergies include several separate clinical entities, including food protein‐induced allergic proctocolitis (FPIAP) and food protein‐induced enteropathy (FPE). Although FPIAP and FPE both primarily affect the gastrointestinal tract, their presentations are vastly different.

Food protein-induced enteropathy and its complications
Currently, in pediatric practice, a special place is occupied by patients with severe allergic lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, which often manifest immediately after the birth of a child. Food protein-induced enteropathy reduces the quality of life of the child and family; it is difficult to diagnose and to treat. We present a clinical case of a
