Fish farming systems diversity and implications in the Republic of Benin: Fish farm types and their economic performance

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 2, Issue 6, Page 522-539, December 2022., 2022
Farm type delineation allows for simplifying the diversity in fish farming systems. Multivariate statistical techniques combined with the Calinski and Harabasz pseudo F statistic and bootstrapping were applied to determine the realistic number of fish farm types.

Revealing the Transcriptional and Metabolic Characteristics of Sebocytes Based on the Donkey Cell Transcriptome Atlas

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a comprehensive single‐cell transcriptome atlas of the Dezhou donkey, encompassing 20 tissues and 275 050 cells, is constructed. Through cross‐species and cross‐tissue analyses, distinct transcriptional patterns in donkey sebocytes are identified.

Utilising feed effectors and automated feeders for semi‐intensive pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) production

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 2, Issue 6, Page 540-551, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Feed effectors have been suggested to improve the efficiency of plant‐based shrimp diets by increasing attractability and palatability. This research trial aimed to expand upon previous Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) research involving plant‐based diets, feed effectors and passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) in a laboratory setting ...

The Semi‐Natural Climate Chambers across Latitudes: A Broadly Applicable Husbandry and Experimental System for Terrestrial Ectotherms under Climate Change

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Assessing species' vulnerabilities across geographical gradients is essential for biodiversity conservation under climate change. To address this challenge, the semi‐natural climate chamber across latitudes (SCCAL) is developed, a validated system capable of simulating thermal environments for ecological experiments without reliance on water or ...

Optimizing maize–bean cropping systems for sustainable intensification in southern Ethiopia

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 114, Issue 6, Page 3283-3296, November/December 2022., 2022
Abstract Declining productivity and scarcity of cultivable land in smallholder systems call for exploring sustainable intensification options to increase productivity. Field experiments were conducted at five sites (Sites 1–5) of the Sidama region, southern Ethiopia, in 2018 and 2019 to determine the effects of cropping systems on maize (Zea mays L ...
