Conceptual illustration of a Global Ecosystem Methane Observing System (GEM‐OS) integrating satellites, aircraft, atmospheric networks, and ecosystem measurements to quantify methane emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources. The multi‐scale observing framework improves source attribution, reduces uncertainty in regional methane budgets, and ...

HETEROSIS, CORRELATION AND PATH COEFFICIENT ANALYSIS FOR FORAGE YIELD AND ITS CONTRIBUTING TRAITS OF MAIZE X TEOSINTE HYBRIDS IN TWO SEASONS [PDF]
A local ecotype of teosinte (Euchlaena mexicana Schrad.) and eight different maize (Zea mays L.) genotypes were crossed to generate eight crosses as well as their eight reciprocals to study the heterosis, nature of associations between dry forage yield ...

Adaptive Responses of Tropical Crops: A Multi‐Scale Omics Integrated Perspective
Tropical crops integrate genomic, morphological, physiological, and ecological adaptations to thrive under extreme and variable environments. This review highlights how natural selection, domestication, and breeding shape stress resilience, resource‐use strategies, and productivity in sugarcane, banana, cassava, rubber and oil palm, offering new routes

Ban Glyphosate—Does It Affect the Swedish Farmers' Willingness to Grow Cover Crops?
ABSTRACT The cultivation of cover crops is one of the new Eco‐scheme practices introduced in Sweden. This study examines how the design of policy attributes of these schemes influences farmers' willingness to grow cover crops on arable land, with particular focus on the potential impact of a glyphosate ban.

ABSTRACT Increased frequency of extreme weather events, particularly droughts, threatens grassland farming by destabilizing yields and farms' economic viability. We examine, theoretically and through numerical simulations, how sown plant diversity (natural insurance) influences the attractiveness of indemnity and drought index insurance (formal ...

A method of estimating timeliness costs in forage harvesting illustrated using harvesting systems in Sweden [PDF]
A method for estimating timeliness costs, depending on dry-matter yield and nutritive value of forage is presented, and used to estimate timeliness costs, to examine different harvesting systems and to present conclusions on machinery selection when ...

Unpacking the Farmland Capitalization Effect of Ethanol Establishment
ABSTRACT We unpack the impact of expansions in ethanol production—as measured by proximity to newly constructed ethanol plants and capacity expansions—on farmland values using land transaction data from Kansas in combination with modern causal inference techniques.

Hemp Cultivation and Crop Diversification: Implications for Ecosystem Services in Kentucky
ABSTRACT This study examines the ecosystem benefits of expanding hemp cultivation by assessing its impact on crop diversity. Using scenario‐based simulations and fixed‐effect panel regressions with county‐level data in Kentucky, we find that increased hemp acreage tends to enhance crop diversity, improving water quality and bird diversity.
