Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

Deception mechanisms of FDA‒AWACS against passive monopulse angle measurements

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation
Airborne warning and control systems (AWACS) serve as critical command and control centres in air combat operations, making them prime targets for strategic attacks.

A Multi-Fidelity Data Fusion Approach Based on Semi-Supervised Learning for Image Super-Resolution in Data-Scarce Scenarios

open access: yesSensors
Image super-resolution (SR) techniques can significantly enhance visual quality and information density. However, existing methods often rely on large amounts of paired low- and high-resolution (LR-HR) data, which limits their generalization and ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

An Unsupervised Situation Awareness Framework for UAV Sensor Data Fusion Enabled by a Stabilized Deep Variational Autoencoder

open access: yesSensors
Effective situation awareness relies on the robust processing of high-dimensional data streams generated by onboard sensors. However, the application of deep generative models to extract features from complex UAV sensor data (e.g., GPS, IMU, and radar ...

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Research on methods to enhance the survivability of AWACS with FDA against anti‐ARMs on a battlefield

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
The Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) are pivotal assets in aerial operations, necessitating specialised protection measures, and serving as prime targets for enemy anti‐radiation missiles (ARMs).

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Optimal Configuration and Path Planning for UAV Swarms Using a Novel Localization Approach

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
In localization estimation systems, it is well known that the sensor-emitter geometry can seriously impact the accuracy of the location estimate. In this paper, time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) localization is applied to locate the emitter using ...
