Symmetry-breaking bifurcations for the magnetohydrodynamic equations with helical forcing [PDF]
We have studied the bifurcations in a three-dimensional incompressible magnetofluid with periodic boundary conditions and an external forcing of the Arnold-Beltrami-Childress ~ABC! type. Bifurcation-analysis techniques have been applied to explore the qualitative behavior of solution branches.

Modular invariant dynamics and fermion mass hierarchies around τ = i
We discuss fermion mass hierarchies within modular invariant flavour models. We analyse the neighbourhood of the self-dual point τ = i, where modular invariant theories possess a residual Z 4 invariance.

Symmetry breaking of Kramers–Henneberger atoms by ponderomotive force [PDF]
It was believed that Kramers–Henneberger (KH) atoms in a linearly polarized superintense laser field exhibit the structure of “dichotomy.” At large quiver amplitude, the two lowest-lying eigenstates are degenerated and both have a dichotomous symmetric structure. However, this is not a common structure for KH atoms because KH atoms practically can only

Bifurcation and forced symmetry breaking in Hamiltonian systems [PDF]
We consider the phenomenon of forced symmetry breaking in a symmetric Hamiltonian system on a symplectic manifold. In particular we study the persistence of an initial relative equilibrium subjected to this forced symmetry breaking. We see that, under certain nondegeneracy conditions, an estimate can be made on the number of bifurcating relative ...

Holographic discommensurations
When the system with internal tendency to a spontaneous formation of a spatially periodic state is brought in contact with the external explicit periodic potential, the interesting phenomenon of commensurate lock in can be observed.

Symplectic Integration and Nonlinear Dynamic Symmetry Breaking of Frames
An accurate beam finite element is used to solve nonlinear vibration of arched beams and framed structures. The nonlinear governing equations of a skeletal structure are integrated numerically using symplectic integration schemes so that the Poincaré ...

On models of weak interaction symmetry breaking by colour forces
Abstract Comments are made on models in which the Weinberg-Salam symmetry is broken by colour forces. In particular, we discuss the relevance of compositeness of quarks, leptons and new fermions (including a family of colour sextets).
