Somatic cell reprogramming for Parkinson's disease treatment
The fundamental purpose of cell reprogramming to treat Parkinson's disease is to generate dopaminergic neurons (DAN) and do transplantation. There are two ways to accomplish this. One method is to induce cells into induced DA neurons (iDAN) directly or to induce cells into induced pluripotent stem cells and ultimately into iDAN in vitro. Another option

Role of FOXO Transcription Factors in Cancer Metabolism and Angiogenesis
Forkhead box O transcription factors (FOXOs) regulate several signaling pathways and play crucial roles in health and disease. FOXOs are key regulators of the expression of genes involved in multiple cellular processes and their deregulation has been ...

We identified FOXA2 as a key regulator of lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer, which controls cancer cell aggressiveness. FOXA2 knockdown promotes metastasis by enhancing tumor cell migration and, importantly, by inducing T‐cell apoptosis through a CCL2/LCN2‐mediated pathway. Created with BioGDP.com.

The Transcription Factor FoxK Participates with Nup98 To Regulate Antiviral Gene Expression
Upon infection, pathogen recognition leads to a rapidly activated gene expression program that induces antimicrobial effectors to clear the invader. We recently found that Nup98 regulates the expression of a subset of rapidly activated antiviral genes to

HOXD8 exerts a tumor-suppressing role in colorectal cancer as an apoptotic inducer [PDF]
Homeobox (HOX) genes are conserved transcription factors which determine the anterior-posterior body axis patterning. HOXD8 is a member of HOX genes deregulated in several tumors such as lung carcinoma, neuroblastoma, glioma and colorectal cancer (CRC ...

Endometrial Stromal Cell Senescence: A Non‐Negligible Factor in Recurrent Pregnancy Loss
As populations age, links between female reproductive aging and infertility are increasingly evident. Cellular senescence, characterized by near‐irreversible cell‐cycle arrest and accumulation of damage, can impair tissue function. In the endometrium, aberrant senescence of endometrial stromal cells (EnSCs) may compromise receptivity, hinder embryo ...

Role of Forkhead Transcription Factors in Myocardial Ischemic Reperfusion Injury in Diabetes [PDF]
Diabetes, characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from either insulin deficiency or insulin resistance, is a chronic metabolic disorder. Hearts of subjects with diabetes are more sensitive to myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury but the underlying ...

Copper interferes with tryptophan metabolism and 5‐HT levels by modulating intestinal flora. Intestinal barrier breakdown and inflammatory response trigger nerve damage under copper exposure. W. coagulans XY2 alleviates copper‐induced neurotoxicity by targeting a multi‐dimensional “tryptophan metabolism‐antioxidant defense‐gut‐brain axis” network.
