KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Morphological taxonomy in the present-day generative framework: A case study of English and Czech nominalization

open access: yesTopics in Linguistics, 2018
This paper addresses the classification of morphemes in a generative framework. Referring to existing theoretical models of generative morphosyntax (e.g.

Formal Integration of Derived Foliations

open access: yes
Frobenius' theorem in differential geometry asserts that every involutive subbundle of the tangent bundle of a manifold $M$ integrates to a decomposition of $M$ into smooth leaves. We prove an infinitesimal analogue of this result for locally coherent qcqs schemes $X$ over coherent rings.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

The Etymology of the Proto-Slavic *jarьmъ, *jarьmo ‘yoke’

open access: yesRasprave Instituta za Hrvatski Jezik i Jezikoslovlje, 2010
The article discusses the etymology of the Proto-Slavic word *jarьmъ, *jarьmo, which denotes a yoke that yokes two oxen. It is argued that this word reflects the original plural to the word for ‘arm, shoulder’ in Balto-Slavic.

Multifractal formalism derived from thermodynamics

open access: yes, 2010
We show that under quite general conditions, various multifractal spectra may be obtained as Legendre transforms of functions $T\colon \RR\to \RR$ arising in the thermodynamic formalism. We impose minimal requirements on the maps we consider, and obtain partial results for any continuous map $f$ on a compact metric space.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
