A Review on Sheet Metal Forming Behavior in High-Strength Steels and the Use of Numerical Simulations

open access: yesMetals
High-strength steels such as Dual Phase (DP), Transformation-Induced Plasticity (TRIP), and Twinning-Induced Plasticity (TWIP) steels have gained importance in automotive applications due to the potential for weight reduction and increased performance in

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Forming limit curves for quasi-static and dynamic working-media-based forming processes

open access: yes, 2018
The production of complex, multi-functional, high-strength components is becoming increasingly important in the sheet metal industry. Especially with small batch sizes, quasi-static working-media-based forming processes (WMF), such as hydromechanical deep drawing (HMD) or high-pressure sheet metal forming (HPF), can be advantageous.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Fracture forming limit curve prediction by ductile fracture models

open access: yesProcedia Structural Integrity
The fracture forming limit curve is an essential tool giving information about fracture initiation in metal forming applications. In order to obtain a fracture-forming limit curve, the Nakajima test should be carried out. However, these tests are costly and time-consuming processes.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Application of artificial neural networks for characterisation of formability properties of sheet metals

open access: yesInternational Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture
Artificial neural network models were developed to estimate forming limit diagrams from tensile test results based on our own experiments and data from the literature for steel and aluminium sheet metals.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Impact of Uniaxial Pre-Strains on the Forming Limit Curve (FLC) of CuZn 70-30 Brass Sheets for Enhanced Formability in Production Applications Using the Nakajima Test

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
Brass sheets are extensively utilized in the automotive, electrical, and other industries, where an in-depth understanding of their formability is crucial for achieving optimal performance in production applications. This study investigates the influence
