Modelling of Metal Formability in Forming Processes (Forming Limit Curves-FLC)
2003The basic purpose of formability modelling is the defining of mathematical models that are indispensable for simulation and determination of the formability limit of metals, that is, the limiting degree of deformation in forming processes. The results obtained indicate that the formability limit of metals is a great extent dependent on the state of ...

Influence of strain path on the forming-limit curve in aluminum
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2005The influence of a two-stage strain path on the forming-limit curve (FLC) in aluminum has been investigated. Uniaxial tensile straining followed by orthogonal uniaxial tensile straining decreases the forming-limit strains. Equibiaxial tensile straining followed by uniaxial tensile straining increases the forming-limit strains in the region of plane ...

Development of Forming Limit Curves for Aerospace Aluminum Alloys
1978The objective was to develop forming limit curve (FLCs),tensile(elastic and plastic) properties, and production stretch-form test data for two alloys. A laboratory technique developed by Hecker and his associates at General Motors Research Laboratories was used to develop FLCs for 2024-T3 and 2219-T31 aluminum alloys.
