Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Evanescent-Light Deposition of Graphene Onto Tapered Fibers for Passive Q-Switch and Mode-Locker

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2012
We demonstrate the fabrication of graphene-deposited tapered fibers (GDTFs), which can be used as saturable absorbers (SAs) for pulsed lasers. The advantages of GDTF SAs include flexibility, all-fiber configuration, and high optical damage threshold. The

Multiplicity Formula and Stable Trace Formula [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Mathematics, 2019
Let $G$ be a connected reductive group over $\mathbb{Q}$. In this paper, we will stabilize the local trace formula, in particular, we construct the explicit form of the spectral side of stable local trace formula in the Archimedean case, when one component of the test function is cuspidal.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

A Numerical Model for Studying Multimicrochip and Single-Chip LEDs With an Interdigitated Mesa Geometry

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2013
A 3-D numerical model has been developed to investigate the transient thermal, electrical, and optical output performance of a single-chip light-emitting diode (LED) with an interdigitated mesa geometry under dc operation and a multimicrochip LED under ...

A nonabelian trace formula

open access: yes, 2014
Let $E/F$ be an extension of number fields with $\mathrm{Gal}(E/F)$ simple and nonabelian. In [G] the first named author suggested an approach to nonsolvable base change and descent of automorphic representations of $\mathrm{GL}_2$ along such an ...

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Analytical Expression of Average Power-Coupling Coefficients for Estimating Intercore Crosstalk in Multicore Fibers

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2012
In order to realize fast and accurate estimation of intercore crosstalk in bent multicore fibers (MCFs), an analytical expression of the average power-coupling coefficient (PCC) based on an exponential autocorrelation function is, for the first time ...

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.
