PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Electromagnetic Response Characteristics and Applications of Numerical Simulation of Geoelectricity in Water-Rich Areas of Mines

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Mine water inrush remains one of the major hazards threatening the safety of coal mining operations. To assess the feasibility of integrating transient electromagnetic (TEM) and direct-current (DC) methods for advanced detection in underground settings ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Application of seismic-while-tunnelling detection in the identification of densely distributed sub-seismic faults

open access: yesMeitian dizhi yu kantan
Objective and MethodDensely distributed sub-seismic faults have emerged as a major hidden disaster-causing geological factor, heavily influencing both the production efficiency and operational safety of coal mines. To achieve precise advance detection of

Forward Modeling of Double Neutron Stars: Insights from Highly-Offset Short Gamma-Ray Bursts

open access: yes, 2020
We present a detailed analysis of two well-localized, highly offset short gamma-ray bursts---GRB~070809 and GRB~090515---investigating the kinematic evolution of their progenitors from compact object formation until merger. Calibrating to observations of

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Study of the Impact of Acquisition Parameters on Fault Feature Identification Based on Magnetotelluric Modeling

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The electromagnetic method is widely used in mineral exploration, geothermal resource exploration, and deep earth structure detection. To improve the resolution and positioning accuracy of magnetotelluric surveys for targets beneath cover, it is ...

The Effects of the Rectus Femoris Muscle on Knee and Foot Kinematics during the Swing Phase of Normal Walking

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The role of rectus femoris (RF) muscle during walking was analyzed through musculoskeletal models to understand the effects of muscle weakness and hyperactivity.

Fast Point Spread Function Modeling with Deep Learning

open access: yes, 2018
Modeling the Point Spread Function (PSF) of wide-field surveys is vital for many astrophysical applications and cosmological probes including weak gravitational lensing. The PSF smears the image of any recorded object and therefore needs to be taken into

Moving Forward: On the Limits of Motor-Based Forward Models

open access: yesTrends in Cognitive Sciences, 2019
The human ability to anticipate the consequences that result from action is an essential building block for cognitive, emotional, and social functioning. A dominant view is that this faculty is based on motor predictions, in which a forward model uses a copy of the motor command to predict imminent sensory action-consequences. Although this account was
