Direct and Reverse Secret-Key Capacities of a Quantum Channel
We define the direct and reverse secret-key capacities of a memoryless quantum channel as the optimal rates that entanglement-based quantum key distribution protocols can reach by using a single forward classical communication (direct reconciliation) or ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Dynamic Searchable Symmetric Encryption Based on Protected Search Mode of Updatable Encryption [PDF]
Dynamic searchable symmetric encryption(DSSE) technology,as an extension of static searchable encryption, has attracted much attention because it solves the problem of secure retrieval over encrypted data and supports data dynamicity. For practicality ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Forward Secure Ring Signature without Random Oracles [PDF]
In this paper, we propose a forward secure ring signature scheme without random oracles. With forward security, if a secret key of a corresponding ring member is exposed, all previously signed signatures containing this member remain valid. Yet the one who has stolen the secret key cannot produce any valid signature belonged to the past time period ...

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

An Elliptic Curve-based Signcryption Scheme with Forward Secrecy
An elliptic curve-based signcryption scheme is introduced in this paper that effectively combines the functionalities of digital signature and encryption, and decreases the computational costs and communication overheads in comparison with the ...

Secure Inter-domain Routing and Forwarding via Verifiable Forwarding Commitments
The Internet inter-domain routing system is vulnerable. On the control plane, the de facto Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) does not have built-in mechanisms to authenticate routing announcements, so an adversary can announce virtually arbitrary paths to hijack network traffic; on the data plane, it is difficult to ensure that actual forwarding path ...

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...
