Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Finite Approximations to Quantum Physics: Quantum Points and their Bundles

open access: yes, 1993
There exists a physically well motivated method for approximating manifolds by certain topological spaces with a finite or a countable set of points.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Functional Integral Approaches to the Bosonization of Effective Multi-Quark Interactions with U_A(1) Breaking

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2006
Low energy hadron phenomenology involving the (u,d,s) quarks is often approached through effective multi-quark Lagrangians with the symmetries of QCD.

Cultural adaptation and psychometric properties of the 8-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-8) to screen for depression in southwestern Madagascar

open access: yesCambridge Prisms: Global Mental Health
There have been no culturally validated measures to screen for depression in Madagascar. In 2022–2023, we conducted qualitative studies in the Bay of Ranobe area in southwestern Madagascar to understand local mental health syndromes specific to this ...

Efficient computation of high index Sturm-Liouville eigenvalues for problems in physics

open access: yes, 2008
Finding the eigenvalues of a Sturm-Liouville problem can be a computationally challenging task, especially when a large set of eigenvalues is computed, or just when particularly large eigenvalues are sought.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Determination of the main factors of the gross regional product level by econometric modeling methods for the totality of regions of the Russian Federation

open access: yesСтатистика и экономика, 2019
The purpose of the research is to identify factors that determine the level of gross regional product, using the construction of econometric models. In terms of the economic theory the volume of gross added value of the region depends on existence of ...

Parquet solution for a flat Fermi surface

open access: yes, 1996
We study instabilities occurring in the electron system whose Fermi surface has flat regions on its opposite sides. Such a Fermi surface resembles Fermi surfaces of some high-$T_c$ superconductors.
