Four-Wave-Mixing (FWM)

2004
Four-Wave-Mixing (FWM), or sometimes four-photon-mixing (FPM), describes a nonlinear optical effect at which four waves or photons interact with each other due to the third order nonlinearity of the material. As a result, new waves with sum and difference frequencies are generated during the propagation in the waveguide.

Four wave mixing with matter waves

2011
I discuss analogs of four wave mixing and parametric downconversion experiments with deBroglie waves. We are able to demonstrate the production of atoms in correlated pairs. I will discuss prospects for using such systems to investigate entanglement of well separated atoms.
