Four-Wave mixing in degenerate Fermi gases: Beyond the undepleted pump approximation
We analyze the full nonlinear dynamics of the four-wave mixing between an incident beam of fermions and a fermionic density grating. We find that when the number of atoms in the beam is comparable to the number of atoms forming the grating, the dephasing

Giant nonlinear response at a plasmonic nanofocus drives efficient four-wave mixing
A plasmonic route for mixing waves Nonlinear optics typically requires photons to interact over distances spanning hundreds or thousands of wavelengths. Nonlinear optical devices therefore tend to be bulk components. Nielsen et al.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Multi-Way Noiseless Signal Amplification in a Symmetrical Cascaded Four-Wave Mixing Process
According to the fundamental laws of quantum optics, vacuum noise is inevitably added to the signal when one tries to amplify a signal. However, it has been recently shown that noiseless signal amplification can be realized when a phase-sensitive process

dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Polarization-dependent optical nonlinearities of multiquantum-well laser amplifiers studied by four-wave mixing [PDF]
We present a detailed study of the polarization properties of four-wave mixing in multiquantum-well (MQW) semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA's). In particular, the polarization selection rules relevant to all processes contributing to the generation ...

Shape-preserving and unidirectional frequency conversion using four-wave mixing Bragg scattering [PDF]
In this work, we investigate the properties of four-wave mixing Bragg scattering in a configuration that employs orthogonally polarized pumps in a birefringent waveguide. This configuration enables a large signal conversion bandwidth, and allows strongly

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

Cascaded four-wave mixing in tapered plasmonic nanoantenna
We study theoretically the cascaded four-wave mixing (FWM) in broadband tapered plasmonic nanoantennas and demonstrate a 300-fold increase in nonlinear frequency conversion detected in the main lobe of the nanoantenna far-field pattern.
