Tailoring Phonon‐Driven Responses in α‐MoO3 through Isotopic Enrichment
ABSTRACT The implementation of polaritonic materials into nanoscale devices requires selective tuning of parameters to realize desired spectral or thermal responses. One robust material, α‐MoO3, an orthorhombic crystal boasting three distinct phonon dispersions, provides three polaritonic dispersions of hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) across the ...

Generating Pseudo-Realistic Infrared Observations for Observing System Simulation Experiments
Observing System Simulation Experiments (OSSEs) are essential for evaluating and designing remote sensing systems using synthetic observations. A key aspect of OSSEs is tuning observation errors, typically by comparing data assimilation (DA) statistics ...

Embedding WFRFT Signals Into TDCS for Secure Communications
This paper presents a novel combinatory strategy to embed weighted-type fractional Fourier transform (WFRFT) precoding signals into transform domain communication system (TDCS). The original data can be divided into two parts.

A fourier pseudo-spectral method for the higher-order boussinesq equation
The higher-order Boussinesq equation (HBq) is given by utt = uxx+eta1uxxtt-eta2uxxxxtt +(f(u))xx where f(u)=u^p; p>1 is an integer. Here eta1 and eta2 are real positive constants. The HBq equation models the longitudinal vibrations of a dense lattice. In this thesis study, we propose a Fourier pseudo-spectral method for the HBq equation.

Convex Analysis for Minimizing and Learning Submodular Set Functions [PDF]
The connections between convexity and submodularity are explored, for purposes of minimizing and learning submodular set functions. First, we develop a novel method for minimizing a particular class of submodular functions, which can be expressed as a

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...
