Drivers of Viral Diversity and Sharing in Marine Mammals
ABSTRACT Knowledge of viral infection in marine mammals, a group severely threatened by human activity, is largely limited to the pathology and epidemiology of few endemic viruses. The recent emergence in marine mammals of high‐consequence viruses, such as H5N1 avian influenza and rabies, underscores the importance of understanding the ecology of viral

Unique Features of Fowl Adenovirus 9 Gene Transcription
We examined the transcriptional organization of fowl adenovirus 9 (FAdV-9) and analyzed temporal transcription profiles of its early and late mRNAs. At least six early and six late transcriptional regions were identified for FAdV-9. Extensive splicing was observed in all FAdV-9 early transcripts examined. Sequence analysis of the cDNAs representing the

Gross and Histologic Lesions of Adenovirus Group I in Guinea Fowl [PDF]
Avian species show distinct differences in pathologic presentations due to avian adenovirus infections. The role of adenoviruses as pathogens is well documented in certain diseases but not as well documented in other clinical conditions. Quail bronchitis and inclusion body hepatitis due to group I adenovirus affect primarily the trachea and liver ...

Bee products as alternatives in the treatment of viral infections
Abstract Medicines used in the treatment of viral infections usually reduce symptoms. There is a need to develop drugs that inhibit the viruses and do not merely relieve the symptoms. Natural bee products possess many pharmacological properties and are widely used in folk medicine. There are many studies on the antibacterial effects of bee products but

FAdV-4 induces more severe inflammatory responses compared to FAdV-8b
Multiple infections, either single or mixed, involving pathogens such as serotype 4 fowl adenovirus (FAdV-4) and serotype 8b fowl adenovirus (FAdV-8b), have been observed in numerous laying hens in China, leading to severe liver damage.

Abstract The hyperabundance of herbivores—a result of altered human relationality with the land and the extirpation of predators—is leading to large‐scale degradation of keystone ecosystems across the globe. Designing and implementing socially acceptable and cost‐effective strategies that meaningfully reduce herbivore populations while allowing for the

Strategic Preparedness of Broad‐Spectrum Antivirals for Rapid Response Towards Next Pandemics
Nanoengineered broad‐spectrum antivirals (BSAs) represent a transformative approach to pandemic preparedness. Unlike virus‐specific drugs requiring separate development, BSAs act across multiple viral families through nanoengineering strategies that enhance solubility, bioavailability, and host‐targeted activity.

The conserved region of HA2 peptide of Influenza A virus was expressed on the surface of Protein VIII from M13 phage. Immunization of broiler chickens by this hybrid phage showed high levels of antibody responses, highlighting its potential as a promising tool for universal vaccine development against Influenza A virus.

An unusual outbreak of inclusion body hepatitis on a broiler chicken farm: a case report
This study investigated an outbreak of inclusion body hepatitis in ROSS 308 hybrid broiler type chickens between 19 and 25 days of fattening. For this purpose, clinical observation, ELISA fowl adenovirus and chicken anaemia virus antibody detection in ...
