Implementation of a secure TLS coprocessor on an FPGA

Microprocessors and Microsystems, 2016
Abstract In this paper we present a secure implementation architecture of a coprocessor for the TLSv1.2 protocol, on an FPGA. Techniques were used that increase the resistance of the design to side channel attacks, and also protect the private key data from software based attacks.

Security for volatile FPGAs

2009
With reconfigurable devices fast becoming complete systems in their own right, interest in their security properties has increased. While research on “FPGA security” has been active since the early 2000s, few have treated the field as a whole, or framed its challenges in the context of the unique FPGA usage model and application space.

Lightweight and compact solutions for secure reconfiguration of FPGAs

2013 International Conference on Reconfigurable Computing and FPGAs (ReConFig), 2013
Reconfiguration of FPGAs is becoming increasingly popular particularly in networking applications. In order to protect FPGA designs against attacks, secure reconfiguration must be performed. This paper introduces low cost solutions for protecting FPGA designs. This is achieved by implementing low cost hardware architectures of authenticated encryption (

On-Chip Communication and Security in FPGAs

2018
Innovations in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) manufacturing processes and architectural design have led to the development of extremely large FPGAs. There has also been a widespread adaptation of these large FPGAs in cloud infrastructures and data centers to accelerate search and machine learning applications.
