Deregulation of the expression of the fractalkine/fractalkine receptor complex in HIV-1–infected patients

Blood, 2001
AbstractFractalkine is the only member of the CX3C chemokine family. Polymorphism of the fractalkine receptor gene may influence the prognosis of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, but the nature of the cells expressing fractalkine or its receptor in HIV-infected patients remains unknown.

Upregulation of Fractalkine in Human Crescentic Glomerulonephritis

Nephron, 2001
Background/Aim: To evaluate the importance of fractalkine, a novel member of the CX3C chemokine, and natural killer (NK) cells in human crescentic glomerulonephritis, we determined the presence of fractalkine in the diseased kidneys immunohistochemically, and the correlation among fractalkine, NK cells and the degree of renal damage.

Fractalkine in rheumatoid arthritis and allied conditions

Modern Rheumatology, 2006
Leukocyte adhesion and trafficking at the endothelium requires both adhesion molecules and chemotactic factors. Fractalkine (CX3C) is a unique chemokine, and is expressed on tumor necrosis factor-alpha- and interleukin-1-activated endothelial cells (ECs).
