New Class of Complex Models of Materials with Piezoelectric Properties with Differential Constitutive Relations of Fractional Order: An Overview

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
Rheological complex models of various elastoviscous and viscoelastic fractional-type substances with polarized piezoelectric properties are of interest due to the widespread use of viscoelastic–plastic bodies under loading.

Various Methods of Realization for Fractional-Order Elements

open access: yesECTI Transactions on Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Communications, 2023
Fractional-order circuits are finding applications in control systems, signal processing, and other allied fields. As a result, realizing fractional-order elements or fractance devices is an essential research topic. A unique fractance device is realized in this study using continued fraction expansion (CFE) and partial fraction expansion (PFE ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

A Discrete Method Based on the CE-SE Formulation for the Fractional Advection-Dispersion Equation

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2015
We obtain a numerical algorithm by using the space-time conservation element and solution element (CE-SE) method for the fractional advection-dispersion equation. The fractional derivative is defined by the Riemann-Liouville formula. We prove that the CE-

Enhance limit cycle oscillation in a wind flow energy harvester system with fractional order derivatives

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2014
Advances in material science and mathematics in conjunction with technological needs have triggered the use of material and electric components with fractional order physical properties. This paper considers the mathematical model of a piezoelectric wind

Fractional-order elements of complement order

open access: yes, 2020
The design of analogue fractional-order systems requires the presence of fractional-order elements (FOEs), capacitive and/or inductive, featuring fractional order α (0 < α < 1). As currently FOEs are not available as discrete elements, suitable RC networks are used to overcome this obstacle.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

A Creep Model of Asphalt Mixture Based on Variable Order Fractional Derivative

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
In order to quantitatively describe the time-varying mechanical properties of asphalt mixture during creep process, a nonlinear viscoelastoplastic creep model was proposed, by using variable-order fractional calculus.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.
