Shares in the EMCA : the time is ripe for true no par value shares in the EU, and the 2nd directive is not an obstacle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The most interesting proposal in the draft European Model Companies Act ( EMCA) concerning shares and the focus of this Article is the recommendation to introduce true no par value shares, as they have been in use in the US for many years and were ...

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Evaluation of Myocardial Ischemia Using Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography in Patients with Stable Angina

open access: yes대한영상의학회지, 2020
Assessment of myocardial ischemia in patients with stable angina is important in deciding whether to treat coronary artery disease and in predicting clinical outcome.

FRACTIONAL FLOW RESERVE (FFR)

open access: yes, 2015
FFR is a form of coronary artery measurement that provides valuable information about the functional significance of coronary artery blockade. It works on a simple hemodynamic principle that the more severe the blockade, the more would be the pressure drop beyond the blockade.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Comparison of Intravascular Imaging–, Physiology‐, or Angiography‐Guided Approaches for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Systematic Review and Network Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Despite current guidelines recommending physiology‐ and intravascular imaging–guided percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in specific lesion subsets, angiography‐guided PCI remains common in practice. The comparative effectiveness of these

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Fractional Flow Reserve in Acute Coronary Syndromes ∗

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2016
The clinical utility of measuring fractional flow reserve (FFR) in the cardiac catheterization laboratory to guide the decision regarding coronary revascularization is now well established.
