Clinical outcomes of patients with deferred revascularisation based on fractional flow reserve (FFR) and instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) negative coronary artery lesions in Pakistani population

open access: yesJournal of the Pakistan Medical Association
Objective: To assess long-term clinical outcomes and factors associated with target vessel revascularisation in patients with deferred revascularisation based on negative fractional flow reserve and negative instantaneous wave-free ratio.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Coronary flow reserve and fractional flow reserve

open access: yes, 2007
Coronary flow reserve (CFR) and fractional flow reserve (FFR) are two methods used to provide information for functional significance of coronary artery stenosis.

Sex Differences in Computed Tomography Coronary Stenosis Severity Versus Flow Impairment and Impact on Revascularization, Clinical Events and Health Care Costs: A FORECAST Substudy

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background The impact of sex‐related differences in coronary atheroma and flow impairment severity on clinical events and costs remains unclear. Methods and Results This is a secondary analysis of patients with stable coronary artery disease who ...

Fractional Flow Reserve following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

open access: yesJournal of Interventional Cardiology, 2020
Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is routinely used to determine lesion severity prior to percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, there is an increasing recognition that FFR may also be useful following PCI to identify mechanisms leading to ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

The present day potential role of fractional flow reserve-guided coronary artery bypass graft surgery

open access: yes, 2016
The favorable impact of fractional flow reserve measurements on the decision-making and overall outcomes of percutaneous coronary artery intervention is well established.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Comparison between Myocardial Ischemia Evaluation by Fractional Flow Reserve and Myocardial Perfusion Scintigraphy

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Moderate coronary artery lesions can be, or not, responsible for myocardial ischemia. The functional analysis of these lesions can be performed by invasive and noninvasive methods.

VERMONT non-optimised: Feasibility of angiography-derived vFFR using baseline diagnostic catheter images

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology: Heart & Vasculature
Background: Vessel-fractional-flow-reserve (vFFR) estimates coronary physiology from the three-dimensional reconstruction of two angiographic projections using computational fluid dynamics.
