Comprehensive analysis of the mechanical system system “fixture – workpiece” [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал інженерних наук, 2017
Present work is devoted to locating and clamping of prismatic parts in fixtures during the machining on drilling-milling-boring machines. The special feature of locating schemes of parts of the present type is that one of the flat surfaces is used as a ...

Longitudinal vibrations of rods from dynamic and kinematic perturbations

open access: yesВестник Дагестанского государственного технического университета: Технические науки, 2022
Objective. In modern technology, elastic structures of structures, machines, and technical devices are widespread. In real conditions, the rods experience oscillations from dynamic and kinematic disturbances. The aim of the work is to develop methods and

Forced Vibrations of Viscoelastic Timoshenko Beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
In a previous paper, the correspondence principle has been applied to derive the differential equations of motion of viscoelastic Timoshenko beams with or without external viscous damping.

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

Vibration analysis of a circular disc backed by a cylindrical cavity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This paper describes the free vibration analysis of a thin disc vibrating and interacting with an acoustic medium contained in a cylindrical duct. The effects of structural-acoustic coupling are studied by means of an analytical-numerical method that is ...

A large-eddy simulation study on the similarity between free vibrations of a flexible cylinder and forced vibrations of a rigid cylinder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The strip theory in hydrodynamics has been widely used for predicting complex vortex induced vibrations (VIV) behind bluff bodies, but the question of how accurate such predictions are has not been addressed adequately before. In order to corroborate the

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

The Influence of the Shaft Mass on the Natural Pulsation of the Free and Forced Transverse Vibrations and Having a Homogeneous Wheel Mounted at the End

open access: yesScientific Bulletin of Valahia University: Materials and Mechanics
The paper aims to study the influence of the mass of the shafts on the natural pulsations of the free and forced transverse vibrations of an elastic system formed by a fixed shaft and a homogeneous wheel for two cases: free vibrations and forced ...
