Effectiveness of a Novel Low‐Density Lipoprotein Apheresis Device Rheocarna in Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis With Chronic Limb‐Threatening Ischemia: A Single‐Center Retrospective Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic limb‐threatening ischemia (CLTI) is a severe form of lower‐extremity artery disease characterized by distal lesions and microcirculatory impairment, limiting revascularization efficacy. Rheocarna is a direct hemoperfusion low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) adsorption device with potential rheological and anti‐inflammatory ...

On a reaction–diffusion–advection system: fixed boundary or free boundary

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2018
This paper is devoted to the asymptotic behaviors of the solution to a reaction–diffusion–advection system in a homogeneous environment with fixed boundary or free boundary.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Free boundary problems with Neuman boundary condition

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2019
In this work, we study the continuity of a free boundary in a class of elliptic problems, with a Neuman boundary condition. The main idea is to use a change of variable that reduces the problem to the one studied in [16].

Remarks on analytical solutions to compressible Navier–Stokes equations with free boundaries

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
In this paper, we consider the free boundary problem of the radially symmetric compressible Navier–Stokes equations with viscosity coefficients of the form μ(ρ) = ρ θ, λ(ρ) = (θ − 1)ρ θ in RN ${\mathbb{R}}^{N}$ .

On Construction of Solutions of Hyperbolic Kirchhoff-Type Problems Involving Free Boundary and Volume Constraint

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we have undertaken the challenging and novel task of establishing the existence of weak solutions for four types of hyperbolic Kirchhoff-type problems: the classical hyperbolic Kirchhoff problem, the problem with a free boundary, the ...

Pointwise Gradient Estimates in Multi-dimensional Slow Diffusion Equations with a Singular Quenching Term

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2020
We consider the high-dimensional equation ∂t⁡u-Δ⁢um+u-β⁢χ{u>0}=0{\partial_{t}u-\Delta u^{m}+u^{-\beta}{\chi_{\{u>0\}}}=0}, extending the mathematical treatment made in 1992 by B. Kawohl and R. Kersner for the one-dimensional case.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
