FREE QUASICONFORMALITY IN BANACH SPACES IV

open access: yesAnnales Academiae Scientiarum Fennicae Series A I Mathematica, 1990
[For part II see the review above.] In this part, I first give various characterizations for coarsely quasihyperbolic and freely quasiconformal maps. For example, a homeomorphism \(f:G\to G'\) is freely quasiconformal if and only if (1) there is \(M>0\) such that \[ d(f\bar B(x,r)) \leq Md(f\bar B(x,r),\partial fB(x,2r)), \] whenever the open ball \(B ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

A Dual-Circularly Polarized Antenna Array for Space Surveillance: From Design to Experimental Validation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents the design, simulation, and experimental validation of a dual-Circularly Polarized (CP) array antenna to be used as single element for a bistatic radar system, aimed at detecting and tracking objects in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).

A generalization of free $L$-spaces

open access: yesTsukuba Journal of Mathematics, 1981
In [11] and [12] Nagami defined the notions of L-spaces and free L-spaces respectively and for these spaces, proved fundamental theorems of dimension theory including coincidence theorem for dim and Ind. The class of L-spaces contains every Lasnev space, and the class of free L-spaces is the minimal one which is countably productive and hereditary and ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Free space method using a vector network analyzer to determine the dielectric permittivity of materials in microwave range

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники, 2019
Modified free space method using a vector network analyzer is proposed. The algorithm for determining the dielectric constant is developed. The results of measurements of the amplitude and phase of the reflection coefficient and transmission coefficient ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
