How Did Evil Come into the World? A Primordial Free-Will Theodicy
James P. Sterba has provided a compelling argument to the effect that given the extent of significant, and indeed even horrendous, evil that an all-good and all-powerful being could have prevented, there is no God.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

THE FREE WILL DEFENSE REVISITED: THE INSTRUMENTAL VALUE OF SIGNIFICANT FREE WILL
Alvin Plantinga has famously responded to the logical problem of evil by appealing to the intrinsic value of significant free will. A problem, however, arises because traditional theists believe that both God and the redeemed who go to heaven cannot do wrong acts. This entails that both God and the redeemed in heaven lack significant freedom.

Compatibilism and the Free Will Defense
The free will defense is a theistic strategy for rejecting a certain argument for the non-existence of God. The argument, sometimes called the “logical problem of evil,” insists that it is logically impossible for an omnipotent, omniscient, perfectly benevolent God to co-exist with evil. Since evil clearly exists, the argument goes, God does not.

The Difference Between Filing Lawsuits and Selling Widgets: The Lost Understanding that Some Attorneys’ Exercise of State Power is Subject to Appropriate Regulation [PDF]
[Excerpt] It is often argued that all attorneys practicing in the United States – regardless of the function they perform in the American justice system – are purely private actors working in a free market system.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
