Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Multiplexing a serial array of tapered optical fibre sensors using coherent optical frequency domain reflectometry [PDF]
The use of high spatial resolution optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) to facilitate the multiplexing of a serial array of tapered optical fibre sensors is presented.

A Study on Coupling Faults’ Characteristics of Fixed-Axis Gear Crack and Planetary Gear Wear
To identify the fault frequency characteristics of the gear transmission system under coupling fault of fixed-axis gear crack and planetary gear wear, dimensionless dynamical equations of gear transmission system were established.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Measurement of the coupling constant in a two-frequency VECSEL
We measure the coupling constant between the two perpendicularly polarized eigenstates of a two-frequency Vertical External Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VECSEL). This measurement is performed for different values of the transverse spatial separation between the two perpendicularly polarized modes.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Light-activated modulation and coupling in integrated polymer-liquid crystal systems [PDF]
We explore the transfer of an incident light pattern onto the liquid crystal (LC) bulk in a photorefractive cell through an integrated photoconducting layer that modulates the electric field applied to the device.

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Evolution of cardiorespiratory interactions with age [PDF]
We describe an analysis of cardiac and respiratory time series recorded from 189 subjects of both genders aged 16–90. By application of the synchrosqueezed wavelet transform, we extract the respiratory and cardiac frequencies and phases with better time ...

Multivariate cross-frequency coupling via generalized eigendecomposition
This paper presents a new framework for analyzing cross-frequency coupling in multichannel electrophysiological recordings. The generalized eigendecomposition-based cross-frequency coupling framework (gedCFC) is inspired by source-separation algorithms ...
