Plasma–neutral coupling allows electrostatic ion cyclotron waves to propagate below ion cyclotron frequency

open access: yes, 2022
0000-0003-3627-6060The effect of ion–neutral collisions on the propagation characteristics of electrostatic ion cyclotron (EIC) waves in a partially ionized plasma is investigated.

Motion analysis of and experimental research on a magnetic and elastic coupling oscillation system

open access: yesHeliyon
To analyze the motion laws of a magnetic and elastic coupling system under the influence of various factors, this paper proposes a magnetic coupling pendulum based on spring pieces and magnets—a magnetic–mechanical oscillator.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Evidence of Transverse Magnetospheric Field Line Oscillations as Observed from Cluster and Ground Magnetometers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The dynamic spectrum of ULF waves from magnetic field data obtained by the elliptically orbiting Cluster satellites (with an apogee of 119 000 km, perigee of 19 000 km and the orbital period of 57 h) have been prepared in the frequency range 0 to 120 mHz

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Analysis and Suppression of SSN Noise Coupling Between Power/Ground Plane Cavities Through Cutouts in Multilayer Packages and PCBs

open access: yes, 2005
We introduce a model of simultaneous switching noise (SSN) coupling between the power/ground plane cavities through cutouts in high-speed and high-density multilayer packages and printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Coupling of structures using frequency response functions

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In the field of structural dynamics is common to predict the behaviour of a structure regarding structural modifications. In this context, the frequency based substructuring method is well-known to perform structural modifications based on the coupling ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Frequency shifted polaron coupling in GaInAs heterostructures

open access: yesSurface Science Letters, 1986
Abstract Frequency dependent cyclotron resonance measurements are reported on Ga0.47In0.53AsInP and Ga0.47In0.53AsAl0.48In0.52As heterostructures. Discontinuities in the effective mass are observed at two frequencies, due to resonant polaron coupling to the two optic phonon modes in GaInAs.

Endocannabinoid Release Modulates Electrical Coupling between CCK Cells Connected via Chemical and Electrical Synapses in CA1.

open access: yes, 2011
Electrical coupling between some subclasses of interneurons is thought to promote coordinated firing that generates rhythmic synchronous activity in cortical regions.
