Frequency multipliers for millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1992
Theory and tools for analysis and design of millimeter- and submillimeter-wave multipliers are discussed. Experimental work is reviewed. The Schottky diode model at submillimeter frequencies, use of Schottky multiplier chains versus direct higher-order multipliers, and the effect of cooling on Schottky diode multipliers are discussed.

A Traveling-Wave Frequency Multiplier

Proceedings of the IRE, 1957
A traveling-wave tube designed to operate as a frequency multiplier (twfm) is described, together with experimental results. The tube employs two helices in cascade, the output helix being a dispersive forward-wave helix operating at S band. A wide range of input frequencies can be used, and the dispersive character of the output helix permits the ...

Digital Frequency Multipliers

IETE Journal of Education, 1982
The paper comprehensively describes the different up to date methods of frequency multiplication with multiplier classification. It covers the design approach of pulse multipliers using Walsh function technique. An exhaustive list of references is added.

On the theory of frequency-multiplying gyroklystrons

2007 Joint 32nd International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves and the 15th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2007
Possibilities for realizing continuous-wave (cw) frequency-quadrupling three-cavity gyroklystrons with successive frequency-doubling in each stage are studied in detail for the both W- and THz frequency bands. Detailed analysis of excitation of spurious waves at the fundamental cyclotron resonance in the output cavity is provided.

Frequency multiplier chains

1984
At frequencies up to the order of 120-150 MHz, it is possible to use a quartz crystal as resonator and thus achieve simultaneously a high Q and good frequency stability and accuracy. At still higher frequencies the phase noise performance of a simple oscillator will be degraded both due to the higher value of f0 and simultaneously the lower Q of a ...

A novel digital frequency multiplier

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1986
This paper presents a digital frequency multiplier having many features not yet found together in existing multipliers. Its acquisition time is within one period of the input signal and it can follow the input frequency over more than three decades.

Analysis of a magnetic frequency multiplier

Electrical Engineering, 1955
THE BEHAVIOR of Deltamax reactors having rectangular hysteresis loop for sinusoidal applied voltages is similar to a gas tube: current for a given voltage flows only for a portion of the cycle called the “conduction angle,” and is practically negligible outside this range.

A New Electronic Multiplier for Power Frequencies

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1940
THERE are many electrical applications which require alternating current at higher frequencies than those normally obtained from the power lines. These applications include: induction heating, the operation of high-speed motors, and the operation of fog horns and underwater signaling devices.

Broadband Frequency Doubler/Multiplier

2017 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and RF Conference (IMaRC), 2017
This paper discusses the design and performance of a low cost broadband frequency doubler/multiplier realized in microwave integrated circuit (MIC) technology. The doubler/multiplier make use of four beam lead schottky diodes in bridge configuration for doubling along with a broadband balun as an feeding network.
