Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A configuration to double the gain of pyramidal horn antenna using single layer frequency selective surface

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
A gain enhancement technique in pyramidal horn antenna using a slot type band pass frequency selective surface (FSS) is presented. The horn antenna without FSS has achieved a measured gain of 10.5 dBi at 10 GHz, while the antenna with the single layer ...

Textile Frequency Selective Surface

open access: yesIEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2017
Frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) are ubiquitous on rigid substrates and increasingly on flexible polymeric substrates. Here, we developed a FSS on a textile which is neither rigid nor smooth. We fabricate a textile capable of rejecting the millimeter-wave radiation in a narrowband, while retaining desirable textile properties such as flexibility and

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Low Profile Dual Linearly Polarized 1-bit Transmitarray Exploiting Two Metallic Layers

open access: yesIEEE Access
A novel azimuth-independent dual linearly polarized (LP) transmitarray (TA) based on a polarization rotator is presented. The exploitation of either right-handed circularly polarized (RHCP) or left-handed CP (LHCP) scattered field is at the basis of the ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Miniaturized Frequency Selective Surface for 6G Communication

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
A single-layer, quartz-supported frequency selective surface (FSS) with a gear-shaped metallic array is proposed for 6G communication. Full-wave simulation, along with the method of equivalent circuit, is applied to investigate the transmission characteristics, while the distributions of surface current distribution, as well as electric field and ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Frequency Behavior of Conformal Wire Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2016
Three-dimensional models are built to examine the frequency behavior of wire structures conforming onto nonplanar surfaces. The effects of altered periodicity on frequency selectiveness of the structures are considered.
