Design of an improved Fresnel prism

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 2006
Based on the optimization of the optical material and internal reflection angle, we designed a model of improved Fresnel prism that is insensitive to the angle of incidence. In this device, the incident light is reflected twice at the same internal reflection angle on the interface between two kinds of glass and the air.

The effect of Fresnel prisms on binocular vision [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
binocular single vision or to assess for the presence of Aims: The detrimental effect of Fresnel prisms on visual acuity has been well documented, whilst their effect on binocularity is less clear.

The prismatic effect on stereoacuity in intermittent exotropia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
PURPOSE: To evaluate the effect of acrylic refractive prism and Fresnel membrane prism on stereoacuity in intermittent exotropia. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Stereoacuities of fifty-two patients (mean age, 12.4 years; range 6 to 45 years) with intermittent ...

Segmental prisms for correction of strabismus

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology. Case Reports
Prisms are used for various purposes in strabismic eyes and can be of various types, including ground prisms and press-on Fresnel prisms. Here, we focus on the use of prisms, especially Fresnel prisms, in small angle deviations and diplopia, particularly

Bessel Beam Generation Using Dielectric Planar Lenses at Millimeter Frequencies

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this work a dielectric planar lens is proposed to generate a Bessel beam. The lens works at Ka-band and produces a non-diffraction range within the Fresnel region of the antenna.

The Impact of Diplopia on Reading

open access: yesBritish and Irish Orthoptic Journal, 2019
Aim: To compare the effect of induced vertical diplopia (small and large separation) on reading speed and accuracy. Method: The Radner Reading Chart (RRC) was used to measure reading speed (correct words per minute (wpm)) and accuracy (percentage ...

Visuomotor adaptation to displacing prisms by adult and baby barn owls [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The capacity of barn owls to adapt visuomotor behavior in response to prism-induced displacement of the visual field was tested in babies and adults.
