Friction induced rail vibrations

A model of rail, considered as multiple supported beam, subjected on friction induced vibration is studied in this work using FEM. The model is presented as continuous system and the mass and elastic properties of a real object are taken into account. The friction forces are nonlinear functions of the relative velocity during slipping.

Friction-induced vibration and noise on a brake system

The experimental set-up of a disc brake system are established. The LuGre friction model is adopted to determine the friction force between the disc and the pad. The nonlinear dynamic behavior of the brake pad with non-internal condition is discussed, also the shrill frictional noise signals are investigated.
