Discordance Between Patient and Physician Global Assessments in Early Systemic Sclerosis
Objective This study aims to identify factors associated with patient global assessment (PtGA) and physician global assessment (PhGA) and discordance between them in systemic sclerosis (SSc). Methods Data from adults with early SSc (<5 years) from the Collaborative National Quality and Efficacy Registry were included.

Determination of the friction coefficient of a Brownian particle by molecular-dynamics simulation
By using the Kirkwood formula, the friction coefficient of a solvated Brownian particle is determined from the integration on time of the autocorrelation function of the force that the solvent exerts on this particle.

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

High-precision velocity control of direct-drive systems based on friction compensation [PDF]
Friction is a complex nonlinear behavior and a significant factor that limits the performance improvement of servo systems. Drawing inspiration from the particular prestiction friction phenomenon exhibited by direct-drive systems upon sudden emergency ...

This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Effect of velocity on roll/slip for low and high load conditions in polymer composite [PDF]
In the last decade polymer composites are often used without lubrication on both low and high speed applications. Some of the application areas are marine, automotive and agriculture used as bearings and cams where roll-slip is the dominant mechanism ...

Low temperature acoustic properties of amorphous silica and the Tunneling Model
Internal friction and speed of sound of a-SiO(2) was measured above 6 mK using a torsional oscillator at 90 kHz, controlling for thermal decoupling, non-linear effects, and clamping losses. Strain amplitudes e(A) = 10^{-8} mark the transition between the

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.
