Peptide RL‐QN15 Regulates Functions of Epidermal Stem Cells to Accelerate Skin Wound Regeneration via the FZD8/β‐Catenin Axis

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
Amphibian‐derived peptide RL‐QN15 activates the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway by interacting with the FZD8 membrane receptor, promoting epidermal stem cells proliferation, migration, stemness, and EMT processes, thus promoting skin wound healing.

Recent Developments in the Optical Control of Adrenergic Signaling

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adrenoceptors (ARs) play a vital role in various physiological processes and are key therapeutic targets. The advent of optical control techniques, including optogenetics and photopharmacology, offers the potential to modulate AR signaling with precise temporal and spatial resolution. In this review, we summarize the latest advancements in the

Frizzled-9 impairs acetylcholine receptor clustering in skeletal muscle cells [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2014
Cumulative evidence indicates that Wnt pathways play crucial and diverse roles to assemble the neuromuscular junction (NMJ), a peripheral synapse characterized by the clustering of acetylcholine receptors (AChR) on postsynaptic densities. The molecular determinants of Wnt effects at the NMJ are still to be fully elucidated.

LINC00922: A Critical Oncogenic Long Non‐Coding RNA Involved in Cancer Progression, Chemotherapy Resistance, and microRNA Regulation

open access: yesMedicine Advances, EarlyView.
LINC00922 is located at 16q21 and is primarily expressed in the cytoplasm. It has been implicated in promoting tumor progression, contributing to poor overall survival (OS) and disease‐free survival (DFS) in patients. LINC00922 drives cancer progression through a complex network of gene interactions, enhances chemotherapy resistance in cancer cells ...

Leptin receptor JAK2/STAT3 signaling modulates expression of Frizzled receptors in articular chondrocytes [PDF]

open access: yesOsteoarthritis and Cartilage, 2010
Differentiated articular chondrocytes express a functional bisoform of the leptin receptor (LRb); however, leptin-LRb signaling in these cells is poorly understood. We hypothesized that leptin-LRb signaling in articular chondrocytes functions to modulate canonical Wnt signaling events by altering the expression of Frizzled (FZD) receptors.Human ...

Mucinous cystic neoplasms of the pancreas and liver share a similar DNA methylation profile with mucinous ovarian tumors

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract The origin of mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs) remains a major challenge in hepato‐pancreato‐biliary pathology. These cystic tumors are defined by their mucinous epithelium and ovarian‐like stroma, with an estimated 10% risk of progression to invasive carcinoma. The origin of the ovarian‐like stroma remains a subject of debate.

Downregulation of SFRP2 facilitates cancer stemness and radioresistance of glioma cells via activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
Secreted frizzled-related protein 2 (SFRP2) is a glycoprotein with frizzled-like cysteine-rich domain that binds with Wnt ligands or frizzled receptors to regulate Wnt signaling.

Proteomic Insight Into Alzheimer's Disease Pathogenesis Pathways

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a leading cause of dementia, but the pathogenesis mechanism is still elusive. Advances in proteomics have uncovered key molecular mechanisms underlying AD, revealing a complex network of dysregulated pathways, including amyloid metabolism, tau pathology, apolipoprotein E (APOE), protein degradation ...

Manipulation of Wnt/β‐Catenin Signaling by Synthetic Frizzled Agonist and LRP Antagonist in Organoid Cultures and In Vivo

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Harnessing synthetic key receptor modulators, this study presents a breakthrough in Wnt/β‐catenin regulation. The FZD agonist RRP‐pbFn bypasses LRP5/6 to drive organoid expansion and tissue regeneration, while the LRP antagonist RRP‐Dkk1c eradicates tumors. These tools enable precise pathway control, advancing regenerative and cancer therapies.

Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein (DARPin) Neutralizers of TcdB from Clostridium difficile Ribotype 027

open access: yesmSphere, 2019
Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) is a leading cause of hospital-acquired diarrhea. In recent decades, the emergence of the “hypervirulent” BI/NAP1/027 strains of C. difficile significantly increased the morbidity and mortality of CDI.
