Oncogenic H‐Ras Reprograms Madin‐Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) Cell‐Derived Midbody Remnant Proteome Following Epithelial‐Mesenchymal Transition

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a fundamental, dynamic cellular process involved in embryonic development, metastasis, organ fibrosis, and tissue regeneration. To define the molecular landscape of secreted midbody remnants (MBRs) to the EMT process, a proteome analysis of MBRs released from Madin–Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells and

Mapping River Bed Topography in Whitewater Rapids Using Bathymetric LiDAR

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bathymetric LiDAR captures river topography efficiently for clear and shallow water, but for mountain rivers, whitewater rapids still pose challenges. This study proposes a novel method to enable the extraction of bottom returns specifically in turbulent whitewater sections.

Frizzled Proteins are bona fide G Protein-Coupled Receptors

open access: yesNature Precedings, 2009
AbstractReceptors of the Frizzled family initiate Wnt ligand-dependent signaling controllingmultiple steps in organism development and highly conserved in evolution.Misactivation of the Wnt/Frizzled signaling is cancerogenic. Frizzled receptorslaunch several signaling cascades: the canonical pathway regulating beta-catenin-dependent transcription; the ...

Plasma Proteomics Analysis Identifying IGFBP2 as a Potential Diagnostic Biomarker for Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Currently, there are no blood biomarkers available for the early diagnosis of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). The objective of this study was to search for potential plasma biomarkers for the diagnosis of LSCC. Methods Plasma samples were taken from patients with LSCC and healthy controls for proteomic analysis.

Folding, misfolding, and regulation of intracellular traffic of G protein‐coupled receptors involved in the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background G protein‐coupled receptors are a large and functionally diverse family of membrane receptors involved in a number of biological processes. Like other proteins, G protein‐coupled receptors need to be properly folded in order to traffic to the plasma membrane and interact with agonist.

Making sense of Wnt signaling – linking hair cell regeneration to development

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2015
Wnt signaling is a highly conserved pathway crucial for development and homeostasis of multicellular organisms. Secreted Wnt ligands bind Frizzled receptors to regulate diverse processes such as axis patterning, cell division, and cell fate specification.

Microtubule Inhibitors Induce Cross‐Resistance to Osimertinib Through CaMKII Activation in EGFR‐Mutated NSCLC

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Eighteen‐week treatment with microtubule inhibitors induces resistance to osimertinib in EGFR‐mutated NSCLC cells. Vinorelbine‐ and paclitaxel‐resistant cells showed activation of FZD7 and CaMKII and increased sensitivity to CaMKII inhibition, with additive or synergistic effects when combined with osimertinib.

Dynamics of the CD9 interactome during bacterial infection of epithelial cells by proximity labelling proteomics

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
We describe the CD9 interactome in epithelial cells for the first time. The interactome is diverse and dynamic and changes dependent on infection with specific bacteria. We validate these data by showing functional interaction between CD9 with CD44 or CD147. We therefore demonstrate that CD9 is a universal organiser of bacterial adhesion platforms able

Differential expression of the Wnt putative receptors Frizzled during mouse somitogenesis

open access: yesMechanisms of Development, 1999
The expression of eight murine Frizzled (1,3-9) genes was studied during mouse somitogenesis, in order to correlate the Wnt-dependent activation of myogenesis with the expression of specific Frizzled putative receptors. Frizzled 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9 have specific expression in the forming and differentiating somites.

Behind the scenes: how the EMILIN/Multimerin family shapes the cancer landscape

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
The EMILIN/Multimerin family members regulate key hallmarks of cancer—including apoptosis, angiogenesis, metastasis, and tumor microenvironment remodeling. As indicated, their function in immune evasion, drug resistance, and metabolic reprogramming remains largely unexplored.
