Voltage-dependent calcium currents in cultured frog skeletal myocytes

Neurophysiology, 1995
Voltage-dependent calcium currents (ICa) in cultured embryonic skeletal frog myocytes at the stages of development ranging from one to six days were studied using the whole-cell patch-clamp recording technique. Fast dihydropyridine (DHP)-nonsensitiveICa and slow DHP-sensitiveICa were recorded during the early stages of myogenesis. These currents do not

Development of muscle-specific features in cultured frog embryonic skeletal myocytes

Journal of Muscle Research & Cell Motility, 1999
To study the development of muscle-specific features during myogenesis, we analysed the ultrastructure and voltage-dependent currents of frog embryonic skeletal myocytes maintained in culture for 10 days. The cells were maintained under culture conditions that prevented cell division, fusion and cell contacts with neuroblasts.

Cell disorganization and stimulation of mitosis in cultured leopard frog lens

Experimental Cell Research, 1971
Abstract Within 12 h of explantation of Rana pipiens lenses the epithelial cells undergo a striking disorganization. Cells originally in outlying areas accumulate at the anterior polar region. Approxim. 4 days after isolation mitotic figures become numerous in the accumulation zone (AZ).

Fibronectin (FN) localizations in early wound healing of cultured frog skins

Biology of the Cell, 1986
The wound healing process of frog skin fragments in epibolic cultures has provided information on FN localizations during the migration of keratinocytes. Mainly two FN localizations were studied by indirect immunodetections: Epidermal localization around keratinocytes which have acquired a fibroblastic shape.

[78] Isolation and culture of haploid frog cells

1974
Publisher Summary This chapter illustrates the procedures used to initiate, characterize, and maintain haploid cell lines a general account of the culture procedures for cells of anuran amphibians. The ideal material for genetic studies in cell culture would be a population in which each cell has a single parental genome.

Cultural and Biochemical Characteristics of a Leptospire from Frog Kidney

Bulletin of the Wildlife Disease Association, 1968
Growth of a leptospire isolated from frog kidney tissue was stimulated by the addition of glucose to a bovine albumin polysorbate 80 medium, did not grow in the absence of polysorbate 80, but did respire on a complex of polysorbate 80 and bovine albumin.

Travel Frog: Traversing cultural borders with mobile games

Convergence: The International Journal of Research into New Media Technologies, 2019
This study concerns the Japanese mobile game Tabi Kaeru (2017), ‘旅かえる’, or Travel Frog as it is known in English. We explore Travel Frog’s astonishing success in China in early 2018 despite no marketing campaign or Chinese localization of this Japanese language game.

Frogs and ogres: transformation, reuse and creativity in meme culture

2023
Memes have been the zeitgeist of social media participation for the last three decades, but their creative, comedic, playful and transformative complexities are under-emphasised by current digital media scholarship. The purpose of this thesis is to bring light to the inner social, technological and formal logics of meme culture and to describe complex ...

Significant of Frog Image as a Cultural Symbol in Printmaking

Kupas Seni, 2022
Printmaking is a branch of fine art that grew along with the development of modern Malaysian art. In the post-independence period, the idea of the National Cultural Policy (DKK) 1971 had a great influence on the world of modern Malaysian art in addressing local cultural and social issues. The visual essence of the printmaking artwork is also influenced

Mutagenesis of haploid cultured frog cells.

Genetics, 1975
Haploid cells afford an opportunity to test some of the assumptions from bacterial genetics which have been adopted by somatic cell geneticists. Haploid cultured cell lines derived from the grass frog Rana pipiens were compared to diploid cell lines in order to test a model which predicts that recessive mutations will be expressed in diploid cells with
